Traveling with pets – step by step
-
Register your pet
Register your pet as early as possible – ideally during the booking process. -
Prepare for the journey
Check the entry requirements of your destination country and have your pet examined by a veterinarian. Obtain all necessary documents (e.g., pet passport). -
Check-in at the airport
Arrive with your pet and transport container at least 2 hours before departure. You will receive your boarding pass at the counter.
Traveling with ease: Tips for your pet
Flying can be just as exciting for animals as it is for humans. With the right preparation, you can ensure that your pet travels calmly and safely:
-
Get your pet used to the transport box early – ideally in short, positive sessions at home, with rewards included.
-
A familiar scent helps: placing a blanket or your pet’s favorite toy in the box provides extra comfort during the journey.
-
Food and flying don’t always go well together – consult your veterinarian on when and how much your pet should eat before the flight.
-
If you are considering medical sedation, always discuss this with your veterinarian – some medications can cause circulatory problems during the flight.
